A total of 102 nursing aids have filed a judicial protest claiming they cannot be given a promotion due to conditions that have been “imposed” on them, which prevent them from being promoted to Scale 13.
The nursing aids claim that this amounts to discrimination because other employees doing the same work are not bound by this restriction.
The nursing aids filed the judicial protest against the director general of human resources and the government’s chief medical doctor.
They are giving the authorities 10 days to promote them to Scale 13 and be given backdated compensation. The writ was signed by lawyer Aron Mifsud Bonnici.
